Advocacy services can help people navigate their way through life’s ups and down. The Independent Advocacy Support service can help build your confidence, by empowering you to speak up in situations where you would normally feel unable to, and will provide continued support until you feel you are able to on your own.

- Hillcrest Futures
Hillcrest Futures provides services to people who have drug and alcohol dependencies as well as support for families impacted. The service recognises that individuals need different support at different times. Hillcrest provide a wide range of services to help people at whatever stage they are at. This includes harm reduction as well as recovery focused services. Some support options available are: one-to-one support, recovery group, harm reduction advise, Blood-Borne Virus testing/treatment, overdose prevention and Naloxone distribution.

- We Are With You
We Are With You are a service which supports people with their drug and alcohol use at a pace that suits the individual. Support can be one-to-one or in group settings. The service also help you to stay safe and healthy while working towards your personal goals, by offering support to access safe equipment and help to prevent overdose.

- Blood-Borne Virus Testing and Wound Care
There are several health risks associated with injecting drug use:
Abscesses, cellulitis, collapsed veins (injecting with a blunt needle, overuse of injecting sites) and increased risk of getting a blood-borne virus (BBV), particularly Hepatitis C.
BBVs are carried in the blood and can be spread from one person to another. Those infected with a BBV may show little or no symptoms of serious disease, but other infected people may be severely ill.

- Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP)
Injecting Equipment Provision (IEP) provides; clean needles, syringes and other injection paraphernalia such as water and citric acid. These services were previously known as Needle Exchanges.

- Naloxone
Naloxone is widely available across Dundee, both as part of the ‘take-home’ scheme and within a wide range of services. For more information about training and carrying naloxone please link HERE
- SafeZone Street Outreach
The Safe Zone Outreach provides immediate crisis support and will signpost to other support services including housing and substance use services. Small food parcels are also available.

- TCA – Beyond Mentoring Project
Offers support to women who have had previous involvement in community justice or substance services and are ready to move on from these services, but still require a level of voluntary support. The Project offers 1-1 support, group activities and SQA accredited Peer Mentor training.

- Hillcrest Futures Young People’s Service Dundee
Provide 1:1 support and education focussing on issues relating to drugs and alcohol, relationships, sexual health and parenthood. Hillcrest work with young people aged 12 to 18 in group settings, via call, text or email support and face-to-face appointments. Young people up to age 25 can also call or drop-in to the office to make appointments for STI and pregnancy testing and free condoms.

- TCA - Support Groups for Young People
TCA provides weekly group input during term time for young people who are affected by substance use, and who may also be experiencing wider issues in the community, at school and in the home. Groups are aimed at varying age ranges and in some cases are gender specific, all groups offer the following monthly sessions: issue-based session, social activity, community sessions and in-house session. Groups at the Dundee office are:
Motiv8 – for young people aged 8 - 14 on Tuesday from 5 -7 pm
Boost is for young males aged 11 - 17 on Thursdays from 5 - 7pm
The Klub is for young females aged 11 - 17 on Thursdays from 5 - 7pm

- TCA - Young People’s Counselling
TCA provide one-to-one counselling for children and young people in primary and secondary school aged 10 - 18. Support is provided for a range of issues connected to mental wellbeing including the impact of substance use, loss and grief, risk-taking, self-harming behaviour, relationships, bullying and self-worth/identity.
Counselling can take place within the school, TCA office or by video call/phone.

- TCA - Young People’s Mentoring
TCA have two young people’s mentoring programmes – Plusone (aged 8 - 14) and Link up (aged 8 - 19). These services provide early intervention for young people who are affected by substance use, offending behaviour, conflict in the family home or are disengaged from education. Young people must meet two of these identified risk factors to be referred. Mentoring takes place 1:1 on a weekly basis in an agreed location within the local community at a time that suits the young person.

The Corner is a young person's health and information service based in Dundee city centre. They offer a wide range of Health & Information services through the city centre drop-in and outreach work. Services are all free, informal and confidential. Services are for those aged 11-19 years (and up to 25 years for those in crisis).
